EBONY HALIBURTON
My name is Ebony Haliburton. I am originally from Kansas City, Missouri. Following my high school career, I earned a scholarship to the University of Kansas. However, I eventually left Kansas and attended Cowley County Community College before then earning another NCAA Division I opportunity at Oral Roberts University. I joined the LTD Women’s team as a player 2007-2-013 following my college career. I grew up in the rough neighborhood in the inner city of Kansas City. I was In and out of foster care most of my adolescence due to a very challenging home life. I attended Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri before moving in with a foster family and transferring to Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in nearby Overland Park, KS. Shortly after transferring, my older brother was shot and killed. I have had to overcome a great deal of adversity in my lifetime, but God never left my side. He grew my faith and increased my strength in order to overcome many of the obstacles that came my way. I have experienced a multitude of challenges in my life and career. Following my collegiate career and after spending several years with LTD, I tried to pursue a professional playing career with a tryout in WNBA. However, things did not work out and I decided to go into college coaching. My first coaching job was at Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Since then, I have gone on to serve as an assistant coach at some great NCAA Division I universities like Utah State University, UC-Irvine, and I am now on staff at Kansas State University. My life is a testimony to what can happen if you turn your life over to Jesus. He rescued me from despair and has raised me up to where I am today.
