RULES

  • No player is eligible to play on more than 1 team in the same division. Any game with an ineligible player is subject to forfeiture.

  • All Men's & Women's Pro-Am Division Team Rosters must be finalized by Week 3.  Any player addition or subtractions must be made in writing with the League Office by a Team Representative.  Failure to comply with these rules could potentially render a team ineligible for Post-season play.  High School Division teams are allowed to utilize as many players on a roster as they choose. 

  • All teams are required to have matching uniforms (jerseys and shorts).  Jerseys must have numbers on the front and/or back. Reversible jerseys are preferred, but not required. Team shorts must be identical in color and design pattern.

    *Policies will not be heavily enforced within HS Division due to some schools not having adequate resources. Policies will be enforced more heavily within PRO-AM Division

  • Any time a coach or player is ejected for any reason the ejected party is automatically subject to a one game suspension without written exception from the tournament manager or tournament representative. If the ejection was due to any physical action or threat of any kind this exception will not be given. In certain instances, coaches, teams and players may be banned for all future events.

  • If a spectator is ejected from the game, the spectator will be suspended from the facility for the remainder of the weekly session.  The spectator must meet with DREAM LEAGUE Directors before entering back into the facility.  

    If a spectator is ejected from a game two times in a session, the spectator will be suspended from the facility indefinitely. 

  • Duration of Game  Four, 10-minute periods

    Game Clock Stops  Last 1 minute of each half (2nd & 4th quarters) on "dead ball" and on made shots.

    *Clock will continue to run last 1 minute of second half if point margin is 15 or above.

  • Length of Halftime  2 minutes

    Length of Time Between Periods  30 seconds

  • Overtime will be 2 minutes with a jump ball to start each. Clock stops in the last 1 minute. A second overtime will be "sudden death" (first team to score).

  • Players will be granted 6 fouls. On the 6th foul, players will foul out.

    On the 5th team foul in a quarter (and all fouls after) teams will shoot 2 free throws. Team fouls reset at each quarter.

  • Each team will have two (2) 30 second time outs per half for a total of four (4) per game. One additional time out will be awarded to each team per overtime period.

  • DREAM LEAGUE Playoff standings will be based upon team Regular Season records.  

    In the event of a Tie-breaking situation, the rules are as follows:

    1. Head to Head - The team that won the regular season meeting will receive the higher seed or advance to the playoffs.

    2. Best Divisional Record -The team or teams with the best record within their divisions or conferences will advance

    3. Point Differential Among Common Opponents - The team with the highest point differential  (Points For - Points Against = Total Point Differential) among common opponents will receive the higher seed or advance to the playoffs, depending on the scenario

  • Womens - 28.5 / High School Boys & Men’s- 29.5

    All divisions will play on a 10’ basket

    Court Dimensions will either be 84’x50’ or 94’x50’

  • Each team will provide a representative to assist with running the clock or keeping the scorebook. This person shall remain neutral and respectful to teams, officials and coaches during all games.

    Each team must have an adult coach on the bench. The coach is responsible for correctly filling out the score sheet for each game. This should include player’s last name and uniform number of each player.

  • Any time a team is not present at game time, the game may be forfeited at the discretion of the tournament manager or tournament representative.

    • All technical fouls assessed by the officials are final and will not be overturned.  

    • Definition of an Unsportsmanlike or Technical Foul:

    • This includes, but is not limited to acts or conduct such as:

    • Disrespectfully addressing, threatening, contacting an official or gesturing in such manner as to indicate resentment.

    • Using profanity

    • Baiting or taunting an opponent or official

    • Any act towards an official, player, or spectator that is perceived as inappropriate or unsportsmanlike

  • Jump Ball Players will jump for the ball on every tie-up. No possession arrow will be utilized in DREAM LEAGUE.

    Advance the Ball   Teams may call a timeout and advance the ball to half-court in last 1 minute of each quarter
