The mission of Livin' The Dream is to boldly proclaim the message and principles of Jesus Christ to those uniquely impacted by sports by serving, loving and teaching. Livin' The Dream seeks to have a positive influence on all people by exercising Christian principles in all we do. Livin' The Dream is an organization geared towards the positive influence of all people through the game of basketball. At Livin' The Dream we help others realize the potential that lies within each of them to live out their dreams in today's society. Mark 9:23Livin' The Dream inspires people of all ages with the love of Christ by using basketball as a teaching platform. We currently provide basketball camps, clinics, private skill development, youth basketball teams and national and international exhibition competitions against college and professional teams.
Livin' The Dream has a larger vision of reaching people in less fortunate parts of the world for Christ through the game of basketball. Our vision is to also positively impact youth and adults within the United States by having our own recreational sports facility with special events and activities. EUROPEAN TOURLivin’ The Dream just wrapped up its second European Tour as a team of 12 young men traveled to the countries of Holland and Spain to use the platform of basketball to reach people for Christ. The team conducted basketball clinics for disadvantaged youth and competed against top level European professional teams. The team members were selected from colleges and semi-professional teams all across the Midwest. Many of the players used the opportunity to showcase their talents in the hopes of landing jobs with an international professional team.The team played 4 games in nine days and endured a challenging travel schedule by planes, trains, automobiles and boats. It was an experience that will not soon be forgotten by all who participated. A few highlights from the trip included a victory over Dutch professional team Omniworld, sightseeing tours of international landmarks, and the donation of nearly 300 Spanish Bibles to people of all ages.2007 European Tour team members included:Terrence Dopson-Rockhurst University, Melvin Mitchell-Cameron University, Adrian Diaz-Navarro Junior College, Kenny Wilcox-Southern Arkansas, Scott McElvain-College of Ozarks, Blake Crawford-UMKC, Brett Olson-Kansas University, Drew Mathews-William Jewell, Brad Mann-Missouri Southern, Jared Young-SBU, Brent Mann-Team Manager, and Craig McElvain-Coach.LTD WOMEN SET TO BEGIN INAUGURAL SEASON LTD ALUMNI WHO ARE LIVIN’ THE DREAMAaron Shaw, a 6’5 200lb Guard from Emporia State University has played on the LTD Men’s Fall Tour the past three seasons. Shaw also plays professionally in Australia for the Lakeside Lightning of the S.B.L. He has grabbed League MVP honors the past two seasons as well as All-Conference honors in 2007. Shaw also helped the Lightning to a League Championship in 2006 and a second place finish in 2007.Chuck Reed, a 6’3 195lb Guard from Park University played with the LTD Men’s International Team in 2005 and also competed on the Fall Tour during 2005 and 2006. Reed plays professionally with the New York Nationals, the team that competes against the Harlem Globetrotters. The past two years, Reed has enjoyed his experience with the Nationals and is currently looking to pursue other professional basketball opportunities in Europe.Livin' The Dream, Inc., is a Christian organization geared towards the positive development of people through basketball.
